Accessibility statement

We want this site to work for everyone — including people using a screen reader, a magnifier, or nothing but a keyboard.

Szentgyörgyvölgy Village Council is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Hungarian Act LXXV of 2018 and Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Compliance status

This website is largely compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Particular attention was paid to the following:

  • text-to-background contrast meets WCAG AA on every text element (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • interactive targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels
  • full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator
  • a “skip to content” link at the start of every page
  • semantic heading structure and ARIA landmarks
  • a text alternative for every meaningful image
  • respect for the reduced-motion preference
  • a responsive layout from 320 pixels wide, up to 200% zoom
  • tappable phone numbers and e-mail addresses
  • correctly declared page language in all three language versions

Built-in display settings

The green button in the bottom-left corner of every page switches on a larger text size, high contrast, and reduced motion. The setting stays in the visitor's own browser; it is not a third-party overlay, it loads no external script and sends no data anywhere.

Non-accessible content

Some of the PDF and DOCX documents available for download (council minutes, programmes) are scanned or not produced in an accessible format. If you need one of them in an accessible form, please tell us and we will send it to you in a usable format.

The embedded map is a third-party service (OpenStreetMap) over whose accessibility we have no influence. The information it shows is also given as text on the Contact page.

Feedback

If you have run into a barrier while using this site, please tell us. We will try to fix it as quickly as we can, and to get the information to you by another route in the meantime.

Method used to prepare this statement

This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by the developer of the website. The assessment had two parts: an automated check against the WCAG 2.1 AA criteria (page language, text alternatives for images, heading structure, landmarks, accessible names for links and buttons, form labels, calculated contrast ratios for every text element, and target sizes), and a manual review using keyboard navigation. The discrepancies found — chiefly insufficient contrast ratios — were corrected before this statement was issued. The assessment did not include an external third-party audit.
