Visiting

Nobody ends up here by accident

Szentgyörgyvölgy is not a village you drive through. People come here looking for something: quiet, forest, long afternoons — and of those we have plenty.

Where exactly we are

Our village lies on the edge of the Őrség, in the western corner of Zala County, in the Lenti district. Both the Slovenian and the Austrian border are close by, so the tri-border region can comfortably be explored in a single day.

The classic Őrség experiences — pottery, pumpkin-seed oil, the scattered hamlets, the national park — are all within reach from here. For price and for peace, though, it is worth sleeping on the edge rather than in the middle.

There is plenty here for a long weekend, and for a week just enough that from the second day on you stop reaching for your phone.

Things to do

What there is to do

Walking

Forests, meadows, stream banks. The local trails are not demanding, but they keep you out for a long time — which is rather the point.

Cycling

Quiet back roads through the Zala hills. Gentle gradients, almost no traffic, plenty of shade.

Quad bike rental

Dávid Könye Balla — in the village, by prior arrangement. Phone: +36 30 346 76 10.

Accommodation

Guest houses and rural stays in the village and nearby — listed on the usual booking sites.
